Pursuant to the authority vested in me, and according to the provisions of section 202.5-c of the Uniform Civil Rules for the Supreme Court and the County Court, the Electronic Document Delivery System (EDDS) may be used for the transmission of documents in the courts and classes of cases and for the purposes, including the filing thereof with a court, detailed below. I hereby authorize the use of the Electronic Document Delivery System (EDDS) as follows: The EDDS may be used to commence new matters or proceed in pending matters in courts and case types as posted on the UCS EDDS website, www.nycourts.gov/edds. The content of the website will be updated only upon the approval of the Chief Administrative Judge.
- This order does not modify the requirements of 202.5-c (c)(3) regarding the authorized use of EDDS for the transmission of documents for filing in courts and case types. Any such document shall not be deemed filed until the clerk of such court or his or her designee shall have reviewed the documents and determined (i) that they are complete, (ii) that any fee that is required before the documents may be filed has been paid, (iii) that the documents include proof of service upon the other party or parties to the action or proceeding when proof of service is required by law, and (iv) that all other filing requirements have been satisfied.
This Order shall take effect immediately.
